The Search and Filter functionality in Donor Fuse is consistent regardless of the module you are on. When you open a module where search is applicable, e.g. Donors, Donations, and Users, there is a search bar on top, and only Active records are listed on the page.
Where applicable, you can also select the fields that appear on the list of records that appear when you select a module. Thus, if you feel that you don't need to show a column in the list, you may choose to hide it. This is handy for modules with a wide array of information available for each record, e.g. Donors. However, you can still search the data available in these hidden columns. In fact, all information available in your records are searchable from the module you are on.
When dates are significant, as in the Dashboard and the Payments module, you can filter the list of records by start and end dates.
Let's take a look at some examples of searching for specific records below. When searching elsewhere in Donor Fuse, you can use the same principles applied in these examples.
Searching for a Donor Record
Since Donor records are kept under the Donors module, or page, we will perform this procedure within that page.
To search for a Donor record:
- Click Contacts on the Main Menu, then Donors.
- On the Donors page, you may enter the name of the donor on the Search bar on the top left. As you type in the name, the list of Donors shown on the page is filtered in real-time.
- Alternatively, you may search using other information related to the donor. For example, if you use "IL", the system will narrow down the search based on a list of donors from Illinois. The video below illustrates this example.
To display the full list of donors again, clear the Search bar. You may then repeat the procedure to perform another search.
Applying a Filter on the List of Donors
Donor Fuse has predefined filters per module. Below are a couple of examples on how to apply filters to the list of Donors:
To Apply a Filter on the Donors Page
- On the Donors page, click the Filter icon to the right of the Search bar.
- On the Donor Filters window, select from among the choice of filters. In the video below, we selected Illinois from the List filter, then applied an Advanced filter for a donor named Kendra.
To remove a filter, click the x button to its right, then click Run.
To Change the Status Filter on the Donors Page from Active to All
In this example, we filter the list of donors by status (Active or All).
To filter by status, on the Donors page, click the default Active filter and set it to All. This retrieves all users and displays them on the Donors page.
To Filter the Donor List by Specific Fields
To filter the Donor List by specific fields, click the Fields filter and select the specific fields to show on the Donor List.
Using Filters on the Dashboard
The Recent Donations chart on the Dashboard provides an example for applying a filter based on start and end dates. The data displayed in the chart is set to the current date by default. To change this:
- Position your mouse cursor over the Date Range filter, then select the start and end dates from the Calendar.
- You can also select from among the predefined filters at the bottom, e.g. This Year to Date, Last 12 Months, Last 7 Days, and Last Month, among others.
Moreover, the data is grouped monthly by default, but can be changed to yearly, quarterly, or weekly, if needed.
This same principle is applicable everywhere where dates are significant to the information shown in Donor Fuse. For example, the dates of pledges and payments, among other information, in the Donations module.
