Donor Fuse provides flexible name management to help organizations accurately identify and distinguish donors in both English and Hebrew, as well as accommodate internal naming needs.
1. Standard English Name Fields
- Title (e.g., Mr., Mrs., Dr.)
- First Name
- Last Name
These fields are visible to donors on receipts, statements, and all donor-facing communications.
2. Hebrew Name Fields (If Hebrew Feature Enabled)
- Hebrew Prefix (e.g., הרב)
- Hebrew First Name
- Hebrew Last Name
- Hebrew Suffix (e.g., שליט"א)
When the Hebrew feature is enabled, these fields are also available and shown on donor-facing documents as appropriate.
3. Internal Name Fields (English & Hebrew)
- Internal Name (English)
- Hebrew Internal Name
These are for your team’s use only—ideal for nicknames, alternate spellings, or internal designations. They are visible in Donor Fuse lists and search but are never shown to donors on receipts, statements, or other correspondence.
4. Name Reference (Hebrew Name Reference)
- Hebrew Name Reference is used for internal or operational purposes, such as adding a father’s name or another identifier to help distinguish between donors with the same name.
- Visibility: This field is only visible inside the Donor Fuse system and will also appear on seat maps, seat labels, and seat index sheets—helping staff or event organizers publicly distinguish between people with similar names in seating contexts.
- Not Shown to Donor: This field never appears in donor-facing receipts, statements, or correspondence.
5. Setting Primary and Secondary Name Display
Donor Fuse allows you to choose which name (English or Hebrew) should be displayed as the primary name on donor lists and in search results. By default, the system uses the English name as primary (showing full English name first, then the Hebrew name underneath if available).
If the Hebrew feature is enabled, you can change this preference:
How to Change the Primary Name Setting:
- Go to Settings in Donor Fuse.
- Click Account Settings.
- Expand the Display Preference section.
- Choose whether the Primary Name should be English or Hebrew.
Once set, the primary name will display first everywhere in the system (lists, search, etc.), with the secondary name below (if available).
Note: The option to change the primary name is only available if the Hebrew feature is enabled for your account.
Summary
- Use standard and Hebrew name fields for donor-facing documents.
- Use internal name fields for nicknames and internal identification (never visible to donors).
- Use Name Reference for internal distinction and seating/public event materials.
- Choose your preferred primary name display in settings for optimal workflow in your organization.
