Custom views let you save a named set of filters so you can instantly switch between different slices of your data. Each view appears as a tab at the top of the list — click it to load its saved configuration. Custom views are available on the Donors, Donations, Payments, Schedules, and Transactions pages.
Create a New Custom View
- Navigate to the page where you want to create a view — for example, click Contacts on the Main Menu, then Donors.
- Set up your filters using the Filter button. For more details, see the dedicated article about filters.
- Click the + button at the right end of the tab bar.
- Enter a name for your view — for example, "NYC Donors" or "Lapsed 12 Months."
- Toggle Public on to share this view with all users on your account, or leave it off to keep it private.
Note: The Public toggle is not available on the Donors page. Views created there are private by default.
- Click Save. The new view appears as a tab and is immediately selected.
Update a View
- Click the view's tab to make it active, then adjust your filters.
- Click the Save View button (floppy disk icon) in the toolbar to save the updated settings.
Note: The Save View button only appears when a custom view is selected. Default views cannot be overwritten.
Manage Your Views
Click All Views at the right end of the tab bar to see every view available to you. From there you can rename, copy, or delete any view you own.
- To rename — click Edit next to the view, update the name, and click Save.
- To copy — click Copy. A duplicate is created with "(Copy)" appended to the name.
- To delete — click Delete.
Note: You can only edit or delete views that you own.
Hide, Show, and Reorder Tabs
- Hide a tab — hover over it and click the × that appears. This applies to both custom and default view tabs. Hiding a tab removes it from your personal view only and does not affect other users.
- Show a hidden tab — click All Views and click the view's name to add it back to your tab bar.
- Reorder tabs — drag and drop any tab to the position you want. Your order is saved automatically.
Default Views vs. Custom Views
Each page includes built-in default views — for example, All on the Donors page, or Processed and Pending on the Payments page. These cannot be edited, renamed, or deleted. Custom views are tabs you create yourself to capture a specific filter configuration you return to regularly. You can hide or show both default and custom view tabs to keep your tab bar organized.
