Sola (formerly known as Cardknox) is a supported payment processor in Donor Fuse. Follow these steps to generate your API key and add Sola as a gateway account in Donor Fuse.
Step 1: Generate Your Sola API Key
- Log in to the Sola portal: https://portal.solapayments.com/login
- From the main menu, go to Settings.
- In the submenu, select Gateway Settings.
- You will be prompted to enter a security code to access this section.
- After entering the code, select Key Management from the left menu.
- In the top right, click Create a Key.
- In the popup:
- For Type, select API (Transaction Key).
- For Description, select Other.
- In the Custom Description field that appears, enter:
Donor Fuse. - Leave all other settings as they are.
- Click Create and View.
- Your new API key will be displayed. Copy the key now, as it will only be visible once.
Step 2: Add Sola as a Gateway in Donor Fuse
- In your Donor Fuse dashboard, go to Settings.
- Click Gateway Accounts.
- Click Add New Gateway Account.
- In the popup:
- Type: Select Sola (Cardknox) from the dropdown.

Internal Name: This is a required field. Enter a name such as
sola. If you have more than one Sola account, use a unique name for each (e.g.,sola-main,sola-events). - API Key: Paste the API key you copied from the Sola portal.
- ACH Enabled: This is off by default. If ACH is enabled on your Sola account and you want to accept ACH payments, toggle this option on.
- Processing Fee Category (Optional): If you have the Donor Fuse Accounting Module enabled, you will see this optional field. Use it to select which fee account category should be used for transaction fees in batch deposits. (The system automatically generates deposits based on batch deposits to the bank.)

Multi-Currency Settings: If your Donor Fuse account supports multiple currencies:
- Statement Currency: Select the currency your Sola account is set up to use.
- Accepted Process Currencies: Select the same currency as above.
- All other fields are optional. Fill them in only if you have specific requirements.
- Click Save New Gateway Account to complete the setup.
Step 3: Test Your Integration
- Enter a small test transaction in Donor Fuse to confirm the connection is working.
- Check the transaction status in both Donor Fuse and your Sola/Cardknox merchant portal.
