Stripe is a supported payment processor in Donor Fuse. Follow these steps to add Stripe as a gateway account in Donor Fuse.
Step 1: Add Stripe as a Gateway in Donor Fuse
- In your Donor Fuse dashboard, go to Settings.
- Click Gateway Accounts.
- Click Add New Gateway Account.
- In the popup:
- Type: Select Stripe from the dropdown.
- Internal Name: This is a required field. Enter a name such as
stripe. If you have more than one Stripe account, use a unique name for each (for example,stripe-main,stripe-events). - Processing Fee Category: If you have the Donor Fuse Accounting Module enabled, you will see this field. Use it to select which fee account category should be used for transaction fees in batch deposits. (The system automatically generates deposits based on batch deposits to the bank.)
- Multi-Currency Settings: If your Donor Fuse account supports multiple currencies:
- Statement Currency: Select the currency your Stripe account is set up to use.
- Accepted Process Currencies: Select all the currencies you want to be able to accept donations for this Stripe account.
- All other fields are optional. Fill them in only if you have specific requirements.
- Click Save New Gateway Account.
Step 2: Connect Your Stripe Account
- After saving, you will be redirected to the Stripe Connect page.
- Log in to your Stripe account.
- Select which Stripe account you want to connect to Donor Fuse.
- Complete the Stripe Connect process.
- Once connected, you will be automatically redirected back to Donor Fuse, and your new Stripe gateway account will be active.
Step 3: Test Your Integration
- Enter a small test transaction in Donor Fuse to confirm the connection is working.
- Check the transaction status in both Donor Fuse and your Stripe dashboard.
Troubleshooting:
- If you encounter any error while testing or processing a payment using this gateway, check the error message:

Processing Error: {error message}, this means the error is from Stripe. Please contact Stripe support directly. - If the error message does not start with
