The “Other” gateway type in Donor Fuse is designed to help organizations track donations from sources that are not directly integrated, such as non-integrated DAFs, checks, or other payment methods. This feature allows you to keep all your donation records in one place—even for sources that aren’t processed electronically.
Step 1: Add an “Other” Gateway in Donor Fuse
- In your Donor Fuse dashboard, go to Settings.
- Click Gateway Accounts.
- Click Add New Gateway Account.
- In the popup:
- Type: Select Other from the dropdown.
- Internal Name: This is a required field. Enter a descriptive name such as
other-daf,check-donations, or a name that reflects the type of donations you’ll be tracking. - Is Foundation: Toggle this setting to indicate if the donations tracked here are from a foundation. If enabled, Donor Fuse will not generate receipts for these donations. If disabled, Donor Fuse will generate receipts as usual.
- Processing Fee Category (Optional): If you have the Donor Fuse Accounting Module enabled, use this field to assign a fee category for tracking any fees associated with these donations.
- Multi-Currency Settings: If your Donor Fuse account supports multiple currencies:
- Statement Currency: Select the currency for this donation source.
- Accepted Process Currencies: Select the same currency as above.
- All other fields are optional. Fill them in only if you have specific requirements.
- Click Save New Gateway Account to complete the setup.
Step 2: Using the "Other" Gateway
- Once set up, you can manually record donations received from non-integrated DAFs, checks, or other external sources by allocating them to this gateway.
- The “Is Foundation” setting will control whether Donor Fuse generates tax receipts for these donations:
- Enabled: No receipts will be generated.
- Disabled: Receipts will be generated as with other donation types.
